What you’ll work on

Know & engage your audience

Understand who you’re writing for and what they need. You’ll learn how to adapt your language, structure and tone, use active and clear phrasing, and get to the point quickly, so your reader stays engaged from the start.

Positive writing

Develop a constructive and respectful writing style. You’ll practise how to highlight benefits, focus on opportunities, and build a narrative that connects with your reader and keeps your message clear and persuasive.

Steps in the writing process

Learn a clear and effective writing workflow. From brainstorming and structuring your ideas to drafting and refining, you’ll build a process that makes writing more efficient and manageable. You’ll also explore different ways to structure your story and keep your text easy to follow.

Clarity & readability

Improve how your texts read and flow. You’ll work on writing concise sentences, reducing unnecessary complexity, and creating a clear structure with headings and visual elements that make your text easy to scan and understand.

Optimal ways to give feedback

Improve how you give and receive feedback. You’ll learn how to provide clear, actionable and respectful input that helps others move forward, and strengthens your own writing at the same time.

For whom are the writing days?
Writing days are for anyone who wants to improve their writing, and we tailor each programme to the needs and level of the group. For example, early-stage researchers can work on their first paper, first grant or narrative CV. More experienced researchers can prepare a large, multidisciplinary proposal, and start-ups can work on a valorisation grant. Whatever your writing goal, we’re happy to discuss what fits. A programme typically runs for 2 to 5 days, depending on your wishes, and its length sets the balance between theory and exercises and free writing time while we are around for questions, tips and tricks. Participants work on their own text, or on an exercise we provide if you don’t have one yet.
